Common Symptom
Users report that the Teams meeting button is missing from Outlook, making it impossible to schedule Teams meetings directly from calendar.
Solution 1: Enable Teams Add-in
- Open Outlook
- Go to File ? Options ? Add-ins
- At the bottom, select "COM Add-ins" ? Go
- Check "Microsoft Teams Meeting Add-in for Microsoft Office"
- Click OK and restart Outlook
Solution 2: Repair Office Installation
If the add-in is missing entirely:
- Control Panel ? Programs ? Programs and Features
- Right-click Microsoft Office ? Change
- Select "Quick Repair" first, then "Online Repair" if needed
- Restart computer
Solution 3: Registry Fix (Advanced)
If add-in is disabled in registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\TeamsAddin.FastConnect
Set LoadBehavior to 3
Solution 4: Reinstall Teams
As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall Microsoft Teams. The Outlook add-in will be restored during installation.
Prevention
Add-ins can be disabled by Group Policy. Check with your IT department if this keeps happening.
